This course is based on science and our lived experience. We utilize the physical, psychological and relationship research about the brain, our bodies, the habits we learned early in life and the impact this has on our ability to lead and positively influence others.
As a leader you inevitably find yourself dealing with changes, differences or problems. This brings stress to others and yourself. STRESS challenges your ability to lead with heart because when stressed you automatically want to protect yourself. The biological stress reaction is simply designed to do just that: take care of you. So when stressed you react automatically. These automatic reactions are like habits that can be a challenge to change. When you lead with your reactivity habits then others are more likely to lead with their reactivity habits. These habits create a pattern of relating that overtime decreases your leadership influence. It creates more chaos, uncertainty, heartache, disappointment, dissatisfaction and increased vulnerability to physical illness.
We teach you tools to restore your physiology to a more peaceful place allowing you to be more present and focused. We also teach you the C.A.R.E. model of connection that will create opportunities for more productive leadership influence.

2. Be Smart…Lead with Heart Women’s Leadership Groups
Changing your reactivity habits and creating new habits of connection will not happen just by educating yourself. You usually learn about stress when your physiology is less stressed and is more peaceful. What you learn when you are more peaceful usually doesn’t apply in most circumstances when you are stressed. Neuroscience suggests that the new things you learn often don’t apply when you are under stress because the brain has not integrated this new information. To change an old habit, your brain must integrate the increased knowledge.
Our Leadership Groups will help you develop new habits to increase the likelihood of leading in an emotionally smart way even when others lead with their automatic reactive habits. You will have an opportunity to change your automatic reactions by actively practicing rituals of emotionally smart actions and thoughts on a regular basis. Emotional unlearning and relearning takes practice. You will gain more self –understanding, unlearn habits that are impacting your leadership and learn new habits that will increase your leadership influence.
We believe you sustain new habits when you develop relationships with those who believe and expect that you can engage in emotionally smart thoughts and actions more often and more consistently, who will inspire you to learn new habits and provide opportunities for you to actively practice your new habits. Our Leadership Groups provides this opportunity.

3. Discover Your Natural Leadership Abilities
Influential leaders are aware of their natural leadership abilities so that they can build on their strengths as well us learn how to adopt another leadership style outside their natural leadership abilities when responding to new conditions and challenges. The best leaders also know how to surround themselves with people who complement and supplement their own abilities, not with clones of themselves. They know how to encourage and recognize the talents of others.
The Highlands Ability Battery (THAB) and Leadership Report is the first time that a test publisher has attempted to relate a person’s natural abilities to his or her leadership style. The Highlands Ability Battery is the only online assessment that tells you about your natural leadership abilities. You will complete 19 different timed and objective work samples each measuring a different ability. Along with a 144 page Leadership Report you will receive a 2hr customized in person or telephone conversation. This will offer you valuable insight and ways that you can use your leadership abilities and style.
